Mazacote & La Sonora Cubana (Cuba)

Formed in 2004 by percussionist Jesùs "Chuchi" Rivera, La Sonora Cubana aims at bringing back to life the golden age of the Cuban music of the fifties and, as a protagonist of their concerts they have a true legend of Cuban music: the maestro sonero Ignacio "Mazacote" Carrillo. Born in 1927 in Guanacoa, he entertained the fans of Son cubano throughout a career of more than forty years. This group is made even more precious by the presence of Maria Ochoa, another icon of Cuban music and a representative of the “tradición campesina” (rural tradition). With the incomparable voices of Mazacote and Maria Ochoa and the accompaniment of talented musicians, La Sonora Cubana is a concentrate of pure energy, nostalgia and romanticism.

Jaipur Maharaja Brass Band (Rajasthan, India)

The Jaïpur Maharaja Brass Band comes from Rajasthan and is a new group that has performed in the most important festivals of ethnic and jazz music. Formed in Jaipur, the city of Maharajas, the band is composed by seven talented musicians that play the traditional instruments of a brass band (trumpets, trombones, sax, clarinets, etc...), a skillful rajasthan dancer with her acrobatic and intricate traditional dances and an expert fakir, juggler and fire-eater. The Jaïpur Maharaja Brass Band music mixes together Indian melodies and Rajasthan traditional tunes with popular themes from Bollywood movies, jazz, pop, funk, reggae and Hindustan classical music. The result is a incredible fusion of colors, sounds and dancing in a joyous and merry atmosphere that leaves the audience breathless.

Grada (Ireland)

Grada is one of the most successful Irish bands, with more than 150 concerts a year all around the world, from great festivals to prestigious halls like the National Concert Hall of Dublin, the National Geographic Headquarters of Washington, the Royal Concert Hall of Glasgow and the Opera House of Sydney. The members of the group started playing together in 2001, united by the wish to play traditional Irish music in a new way. Their sound is deeply-rooted in the Irish tradition, though it has hints of jazz and other nuances that, to quote the Irish Times, “can mix like they've always been friends”. The group has recorded five albums that entered the Irish music top ten several times.
