26th of July - 21.45 pm
Elliott Murphy & Olivier Durand (U.S.A. & France)
Walk on the Wild Side

Elliot Murphy is one of the greatest songwriters American rock has given us. His first album Aquashow came out in 1973 and since then he has published more than thirty records between albums and singles. At the beginning he was regarded as the 'new Dylan', but over the years he has shown a personality that has no need for comparisons, not even with his friend Bruce Springsteen. The concert in Magliano is dedicated to another giant of rock, Lou Reed, recently departed, that Murphy remembers with and intense version of Walk on the Wild Side. Web - Video

2nd of August - 21.45 pm
Söndörgő (Hungary)
Lost Music of the Balkans
Söndörgó
, led by the three Eredics brothers, are today one of the most versatile and interesting bands in Europe. They set off from the village of Szentendre on the river Danube near Budapest and conquered the world with their jealously cherished Gypsy musical traditions representing Slavic minorities. They present "Tamburising. Lost music of Balkans" their fourth album which contains both unrestrained Gypsy songs and more melancholic tunes and rhythms. They are fantastic musicians who can play a large number of typical instruments among which the Tamburlitza, an ancient string instrument of Turkish-Persian origin, similar to the Italian mandolin.
